Camden Mobile Food Bank COVID-19 Emergency Response Service

Camden Mobile Food Bank, along with partners in our community prepare to help more families in response to the coronavirus outbreak.  We expect to work with families who may have never needed to use the food bank before. We have been speaking with local charities, other local non-profit agencies, and our community partners; sharing our contingency plans to feed children, vulnerable residents and those impacted most by this health crisis.

Over the next 90 days we will making emergency food parcels from our existing food stock. And working with local organisations who are running emergency services to get food out to those most in need.

We’ve had to move the food back to the Living Centre, a few doors down from our permanent home at Somers Town Community Centre.

Our temporary home will be at Saint Pancras and Somers Town Living Centre,  2 Ossulston St, Somers Town, London NW1 1DF

To respond to this crisis we have increased the days we operate the food bank. Our new opening hours are Monday - Thursday between 10am - 12pm, where we’ll be putting together emergency food parcels to respond to those desperate for food during this time. Our most needed items continue to be store cupboard items; however there is now an increased demand for sanitary and cleaning items.

VOLUNTEER WITH US

In this time of uncertainty, we are also asking our community to volunteer their time to help with food deliveries and helping us to collect food donations. We’ll need to work together to meet the increased needs and provide emergency food to those most impacted by this crisis.

PLEASE KEEP DONATING!

You can donate food Monday – Thursday between 10am – 12pm or make a financial contribution on our JustGiving page.

How to be referred

We will be accepting self-referrals and any local organisation, community group, doctors, housing associations etc can also refer clients to us.

Volunteer with us

We have a fantastic pool of volunteers. At the moment we’re only asking for 5 volunteers at a time, to decrease the risk of spreading the virus. However we’re urgently looking for volunteers who have their own transportation, that could help us deliver emergency food parcels on local estates. Please check our social media as well as our website for regular updates.

We would like to thank the following: Somers Town Community Association, Maiden Lane Community Centre and Somers Town Big Local for partnering with us and coming together as a community to make sure no one goes hungry.
