Urban Community Projects is a charity WITH and FOR local people. We empower people to create, inspire and build new opportunities for each other. Working closely with voluntary sector partners and community groups to provide a wide range of activities, which target the most in need in our local community. Our mission has always been to empower local people, giving them the tools to work together to resolve issues of common concern and break down any barriers they are faced with. Our ultimate goal is helping them to make stronger communities.  

What we do.

We work in collaboration with local communities to address and respond to difficult issues that people face in their everyday lives.  Our services and programs reflect the spirit of this partnership, based on trust, determination and a desire to make people’s lives better. In an ever changing world our users face challenging times. We see our role as being at the forefront of bringing people together to facilitate change. 

CAMDEN MOBILE FOOD BANK

Over the last few years we have been addressing food poverty in Camden. Camden Mobile Food Bank, supported by a core group of local volunteers help vulnerable people and families who need food support. We provide healthy and nutritious food parcels to those who really need it.

EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING  

Through our partnership with the JobHub we are able to offer our users employment and training opportunities that help local people into work.

ONE MIC ONE LIFE

We are focusing on the increasing knife and gang crime in the borough and working with young people to ensure every child is safe in their community. Responding to the needs of young people and addressing the lack in school holiday provision; we provide positive diversions that build young people’s confidence and self esteem and teach new skills that improves their overall health and well-being.

COACH TO SUCCESS 

We take a holistic approach to youth work. A joined up service that teaches vital life skills and allows young people to excel and progress in life. We are real cheerleaders in helping young people reach their full potential. Creating accessible pathways that allows them to learn, get qualified and deliver services to local people, in their own communities inspiring their peers and helping to build a brighter place for everyone to live.

MONEY MATTERS

Our financial awareness courses are designed to teach skills that help people manage their money better. Working in partnership with local Credit Unions, our 2 days courses address the lack of financial awareness and consequent financial exclusion experienced by people who live on social housing estates.
