HOW TO MAKE A REFERRAL
We’ve created a new online referral form allowing people in need to self-refer, formed a new partnership with Maiden Lane Food Bank to respond to their referrals (as they are completely out of food stock) and we continue to take referrals from local organisations.
There is one simple and easy referral form that we’re asking everyone who wants to be referred to complete; whether you’re an individual or a professional working for a local charity, organisation or health worker.
ARRANGING FOR FOOD PARCELS TO BE COLLECTED
Our food bank coordinator will aim to contact the named person on the Referral Form within 24 hours and will arrange a collection date and time. A full risk assessment has been carried out and unfortunately you will not be permitted to enter the centre, for your safety and the safety of our staff and volunteers. Your food parcel will be left directly outside the entrance, which you can collect once you are at a safe distance to do so.
NEW DELIVERY EMERGENCY SERVICE
We’re getting 6-8 requests daily to deliver emergency food parcels to the most vulnerable in our community. We are currently working with Camden LA and other local organisations to put arrangements in place. We aim to have set up a new delivery service in the next few weeks. However until then, in urgent cases and if the person lives close to the Living Centre and is in severe need, we may be able to deliver. Please look out for updates on when we’ll start the delivery service.
VOLUNTEER wITH US
During this time we will only have 5 volunteers on site at a time, sorting food and making up emergency food parcels. However we still need volunteers who are able to collect food stock and make emergency food deliveries. Join our wonderful team of volunteers today.
WE’RE RECRUITING A NEW FOOD BANK MANAGER
We’re recruiting a Food Bank Manager who will take over the day to day running of Camden Mobile Food Bank.
